FAQ

HOT PACKS

What is in the Soma Care™ heat packs?

All of the Soma CareTM hot packs contain a solution of water and food grade sodium acetate (a form of salt). The metal disc inside is made of stainless steel and the outer shell is medical grade plastic.

Is the sodium solution safe? Are the packs suitable for children?

Soma CareTM hot packs are suitable for children, adults, and even pets. Since sodium acetate is a food additive, it is non-toxic. Should it break open or become punctured and ingested, you should consult your physician.

Can the heat packs be used as a cold pack?

Yes, place in the refrigerator or freezer in liquid state for 20-30 minutes and apply to desired body location.

*Note, the packs SHOULD NOT be left in the freezer for an extended period of time or allowed to freeze solid.

What happens if the pack becomes punctured?

The pack should be exchanged through our limited lifetime warranty program (see reverse).

Why won’t my heat pack crystallize or heat up?

Occasionally it may require additional flexing attempts to the stainless steel disc. The temperature of the heat pack may still be too hot after boiling. Allow more time to cool.
